This paper aims at assessing inflation performance among inflation targeting (IT) countries with different degrees of foreign exchange flexibility, using a panel of 22 countries that adopted IT between 1990 and 2006, and applying three different foreign exchange regime classifications. We find that the nominal exchange rate regime is associated to inflation in IT countries, depending on the classification adopted and on country grouping, as developing countries that adopt intermediate regimes tend to show.
